The Railway Modellers’ Club of Queensland (Men’s Shed) Inc. is an incorporated association (I.A. 009526) and a not-for-profit community organisation.
The Club aims to:
- Promote fellowship among railway modellers by providing a welcoming social environment in which members can meet to exchange ideas and information relating to the craft of railway modelling.
- Assist and guide members in the methods of building and operating model railway equipment, with reference to prototype railway practices.
- Advance the hobby of railway modelling whenever and wherever possible through publications, meetings, exhibitions, and other activities necessary or incidental to these purposes.
- Support and promote the aims, practices, and standards of the Australian Model Railway Association (AMRA) and the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA), while maintaining a close working relationship with the Southern Cross Model Railway Association (SCMRA).
Monthly Meetings
Monthly meetings and social gatherings are held at the Clubrooms on the second Saturday of each month, exhibitions permitting. A free sausage sizzle is provided at 12:00 pm, followed by an informal meeting commencing at 12:30 pm.
The intent of this meeting is to provide members with an informal update from the Committee.
Running Sessions
All members and visitors can attend our Club-wide running sessions which are held on most Wednesdays (9 am – 12 Noon) and Saturdays (9 am – 2 pm), with smaller groups and individuals running on other days.
After six months membership, you can apply for a Club house access key that allows you 24/7 access to the clubhouse, layouts and workshops every day of the year. Great if you work odd hours.
