Buy & Sell and Open Day - Sunday 4th November Featured

The club arranges a number of "Buy & Sells" throughout the year. At these events, people from all around come out to either buy or to sell model railway equipment and associated items, such as books, magazines etc. There are always some very good bargains to be had at these events.

Large scale up of capability for Rio Tinto as they are scaling up their use of autonomous trains in the Pilbara following regulatory approval in late May, with the robot trains now covering 290,000km a day.

Diesel trains can be fitted with Rolls-Royce Hybrid PowerPacks to turn them into hybrid trains that can also run on battery power, reducing carbon emissions and making them cheaper to run for operators while also making them much quieter when, for example, they approach stations.

3D Printed Railway Figure and Accessories

A parternship between Andrew Lee and Ian Phemister has lauch a new website providing NSWGR 3D engine and station staff printer figures and other accessories. Check the new website www.andianmodels.com/.

This latest version of the tool, maps the paths of the trains to the classic London Underground map designed by Harry Beck in 1931. The original version of this moving map, created by Matthew Somerville as part of a science hackathon in 2010, is a geographic representation of theLondon Underground, overlaying the trains' real-world paths over a map of London.

I came across this article about NCE Advanced Consisting and wanted to share with the rest of you. This article by Mark Gurries, describes Advance Consisting feature in NCE equipment and provides the procedures for setting up, operating and tear down of locomotives in consists. Well worth the read!!!
